Learners:
This lesson is designed for students in Algebra 2 and expects that students are familiar with certain Geometry concepts, measuring angels in degrees and circles, in particular.

Educational Goal:
Upon completion of the webquest, students will know what a radian is and will be able to use the definition of a radian to solve application problems.  They will also know how radians relate to the circumference of a circle and will be able to locate radian measures that are multiples of p/6 and p/4 in the unit circle.

Standards:
A 3.7            Trigonometric Functions
A 3.7.2:
Use the relationship between degree and radian measures to solve problems.

A 3.7.3
Use the unit circle to determine the exact values of sine and cosine, for integer multiples of
pi/6 and pi/4.

Instructional Strategies:

Collaborative Learning - Students are encouraged to work with a partner to process the information they are learning and to reflect on its meaning.  Together they can work to make sense of this new form of measuring angles.

Inquiry -  Students are asked to make sense of what they are learning by first doing a few examples and then using their methods for finding this angles to construct a rule for finding any angle.

Guided Practice - As students work with the unit circle, they are able check their progress by clicking around the interactive unit circle and then return to the quiz to continue to check for understanding.  The quiz resets each time so that they students are able to try different sets of angles and are not doing the same problems over and over again.
