Exploring the history of radians

1)    Read a brief history of degrees for measuring angles.

2)   
Read a brief history of radians (scroll down to the section titled Short note on history of radians.  Read that section and the section beneath it about arc length) for measuring angles.
 

3)   
Discuss with a partner and answer the following questions:  What are the pros and cons to using radians?  Are there any advantages to using degrees?   Record your thoughts to be shared with your teacher.
